Austin summers are HOT and during my first Texas summer I discovered that 105 degrees and humid was an instant death sentence for my makeup and hair. So began my quest to find beauty products that not only worked well with my skin, but could also withstand the Texas heat. This year I came across a few products that I love and I’m excited to share them with you!
Clarins Everlasting Foundation: I stumbled across Clarins Foundation while getting my makeup done for a recent wedding! Clarins was a brand that I had heard of, but never had the opportunity to try. When the makeup artist applied it, I instantly fell in love. It matched my skin tone perfectly, had SPF 15, and provided full coverage that truly evened me out. I ended up purchasing it to try at home and it has far exceeded my expectations! I use a beauty blender to apply it and I just love how natural it looks.
Supergoop Daily Correct CC Cream:This stuff is amazing when you just want a little something to help smooth out your complection and protect you from the sun. The Medium-Dark Supergoop CC Cream has been my go-to to for pool days or just running errands around town. You can use it by itself, as a foundation or even under your foundation as an extra layer of coverage. It reduces the size of your pores and fine lines, gives you such a pretty and natural summer glow, and protects you from UVA and UVB rays with SPF 30 and 100% mineral actives.
Lancome Super Enhancing Mascara Base: This conditioning mascara primer is a game changer and once you use it, you’ll never go back. It helps keep your mascara in place all day long and helps your lashes look longer and thicker! I love love love this for the summer months when I find my mascara fading by early afternoon.
Cover FX Perfect Finishing Powder: I have tried a ton of finishing powders, but this has been my favorite so far. It was recommended to me during a makeup application session at Sephora and I loved how it looked so much that I went home with it that day! It provides an airbrushed-like finish that’s beautiful and it’s great for long summer days or for when you just need a little refresh before happy hour.
Sunday Riley: U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil: During the summer, my skin turns against me and I feel like I constantly break out! I’ve tried a ton of different products, but a few months ago someone recommended Sunday Riley’s UFO oil. If you’re thinking, “adding oil to your face sounds like a recipe for disaster,” I thought the same thing, but this stuff is SO good! It helps reduce the appearance of acne, blackheads and blemishes and also works to combat fine lines and wrinkles. It’s non drying and works so well to keep your skin clear. The price is a little much, but I ordered the .5 ounce for $40 and it’s lasted me 3+ months so far–a few drops goes a long way!
Urban Decay: All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Spray: I had read and read about this finishing spray and recently pulled the trigger and purchased a small bottle of it. Now that I’ve used it, I’m kicking my past self for not purchasing it sooner. I see SUCH a huge different when I spray this on my face at the end of my routine; my makeup truly lasts hours longer and looks fresh throughout the day. I primarily use it on the weekends when I know I’ll be out all day and into the night, but this is an easy product to add into your daily routine!
