Your girlfriend/fiancé/wife’s birthday is right around the corner and you’re sitting there wondering what on earth to get her. Jewelry? Something cool from Amazon? A funny gift? A romantic one? Shopping for that lady in your life is no easy task and, while we all appreciate different gestures, below are 5 Austin gift ideas that your SO would most definitely swoon over:
1. Kendra Scott: I have a serious girl crush on Kendra. Kendra Scott started her jewelry business in 2002 in a spare bedroom in her Austin home and now that small business is valued at $1 billion. 2. Spa Day: Spa days are good for the soul–that’s a fact. If your significant other is anything like me, they love a good spa day, but a pampering may not be in their budget. A spa gift card is always a win and it allows your SO to choose the service they want and when they’ll receive it. If you’re in Austin, two of my favorite spas are Milk and Honey and The Away Spa at the W {if you want to get a little fancy}. Some additional alternatives are Massage Envy and Face to Face if you’re looking for a spot with various locations.
3. Staycation: I love the idea of gifting a Staycation. It’s the perfect way to see your city from a different perspective and get that vacation feel without leaving home. Surprise your SO with a room at The Intercontinental, The JW or Omni Hotel and grab dinner at Swift’s Attic and then drinks at The Elephant Room. Take advantage of the room service for a delicious breakfast spread, enjoy the hotel’s pool and just spend some time exploring the city. Making memories with one you love is always a good idea!
4. Take A Day Trip: Whisk your SO away for a day trip she’ll never forgot. Austin is such a hub and gives you easy access to big cities like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio and small towns like the ever so quaint Fredericksburg. Figure out what she loves and find a spot that’s right for you. Picture a day at Six Flags and then dinner on the San Antonio Riverwalk or wine tasting in the hill country followed by brunch in downtown Fredericksburg. The options are endless and you can truly customize your experience based on budget and time constraints.
5. Work Surprise: Looking for something simple that makes a big statement? A work surprise is always a good idea. Getting a delivery at work is just such a sweet gesture and one that truly stands the test of time. Flowers are a classic choice and my favorite spot to order from is Farm Girl Flowers – I swear your SO will melt when she sees these arrangements. If she isn’t a flower fan, there are other great options that you can surprise her with.
