YOU GUYS. This place has somehow stayed under the radar and I have no idea how. It’s the sweetest little spot about 8 minutes from downtown Austin with rustic decor and a delicious menu. If the floor to ceilings windows, freshly baked cookies, live music and plush green courtyard don’t make you swoon, then I don’t know what will!
This review is going to be a little different than my other since Tiny Boxwoods is pretty straight forward. They serve up brunch, breakfast, lunch and dinner and sport a quaint little bakeshop in house that’s perfect for a croissant and morning latte. Here are a few tips for first timers:
- Tiny Boxwoods does have its own parking lot and we had no trouble finding a spot on a Sunday afternoon.
- If you go for breakfast or lunch during the week, it’s casual counter service. You can quickly order a snack or sandwich and the wait is minimal.
- The restaurant does not take reservations for brunch, so there’s typically a wait {we waited about 30 minutes for a table for two}. There is a gorgeous courtyard outside that’s the perfect place to catch up with friends. Put your name on the list and head outside to chat and listen to some live music.
- I can’t speak to the dinner menu, but there are a ton of options for brunch and each looked huge! From Granola and Avocado Toast {SO good} to a Turkey Avocado Club and Salmon Provencal, there’s truly something for everyone.
- Order a cookie for dessert. Our waitress went on and on about these cookies so we caved and ordered one. Best decision ever. Rumor has it they’re opening up a little bake shop next door called Milk and Cookies–stay tuned for the details!
“We wanted to create something that would become a part of people’s lives. A place they could call their happy place.” -Tiny Boxwoods
