A few days ago, I posted on Instagram about one of my favorite things to do when I move to a new city. It’s a simple thing, but one that makes such a big difference and really helps you feel like you’re part of the community! That thing is to find a coffee shop – a place that makes you happy, one with your favorite drink and inspiring decor.
When we moved to NYC, the first thing I did was test out Vanilla Oat Milk lattes all over town! Below are my top coffee shop picks in different neighborhoods. Hopefully they made you feel at home too – or just make for a good rec if you’re coming to NYC!
Top Coffee Shops
West Village: Since I live in the area, I wanted to share a few picks here! Rosecrans is first and definitely my favorite! It’s a little corner plant shop with a cafe in the back. They only have outdoor seating, but it’s out year round. If you want to walk, grab a coffee and head over to Washington Square Park.
I also love Café Kitsuné for its European feel and seasonal drinks and Hungry Ghost Coffee for its muffins and welcoming work environment (ample seating, outlets and reliable WiFi if you want to bring your laptop).
Soho: Urban Backyard – Really cute spot with a pretty outdoor seating area! If it’s available, grab the table outside right by the door – you’ll know why when you see it.
Upper East Side: Ralphs – They have locations all over the city, but the UES is my favorite. It just has a really calming feel and the building is gorgeous! Grab a coffee and then walk over to Central Park if you have time!
Upper West Side: Plant Shed – Similar to Rosecrans, that’s probably why I was drawn in 🙂 they also sell greenery and have a full service café in the back!
Tribeca: Maman – They have locations all over the city as well, but I’ve been to this one and the one in SoHo the most. The coffee is always good, the food selection solid (love the croissants) and the French farmhouse décor can’t be beat.
