I wanted to do one whole post dedicated to bridesmaid photos and gifts because I think they are just so so special. How often do you get your best friends from different parts of your life together? And how often can you spoil them a bit with something fun to just say thank you?
So part one of this will be bridesmaid gifts! I LOVE gifting experiences > things, but still wanted this gift to be a bit of both. Something we could experience together and something physical that they would have as a keepsake.
A few months before our wedding, I stopped at Kendra Scott in Soho to just look at some jewelry. While I was there, I started talking to the team and we got on the topic of weddings and they told me they did color bar parties for weddings all the time. I had NO idea what that was, but they brought me downstairs and explained it to me! Basically they would host a little party for you and your friends (no cost) and provide champagne and snacks and your group could all design custom pieces. They could pick earrings, bracelets, necklaces, basically anything and pick the setting and the stone.
I fell in love with the idea of them personalizing pieces and took a business card with a mental note to call them closer to the wedding.
Fast forward and I had everything booked at the Color Bar and ready to go! The Friday before the wedding we stopped by the store and spent about an hour or so in there sipping on bubbles and playing with jewelry. Both girls walked out with a custom piece that could wear for our wedding, but also in their everyday lives after that!
I just love that when they look at the jewelry in the years to come, they’ll think of the experience and story behind it 🤍

And then onto Bridesmaid photos! We did a lot of staged photos with friends and family after our ceremony, but I knew I wanted to sneak in a few candid’s with Brittany and Lindsay. Our ceremony and reception were about a 2 minutes walk apart, so I asked our photographer and videographer to walk with us and just take some fun shots of just walking across the street, etc.
I love how these turned out, they’re honestly some of my favorite shots from the day, so I would recommend doing something similar if you can! Even if you don’t have a street to walk down, taking 5 minutes to do something together and have it captured is all you really need – it can be getting drinks at the bar, walking outside, hanging out in the lobby of your venue, etc.
