Happy Thursday friends! If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen my recent stories regarding the sad sad state of our house plants.
Long story short: Ben and I wanted to create a wall of vines in our living room that hung over our TV. We loved the idea of having a plant wall and the pop of green that it would bring to our space! We bought a few planters, did curb side pick-up for three sweet potato vines and two spider plants, planted/hung them up at home and we were off to the races. Below is a photo of them a few days after we got them up!
After about a month, we realized that our plants weren’t holding as well as we hoped. Even though were being A+ plant parents, our apartment wasn’t getting enough natural light to keep those babies alive. We tried bringing them outside for a few hours each morning, but at the end of the day the lack of consistent light ended up leading to their demise. A wall of dead vines wasn’t exactly our vision 🙂

So we decided to hang onto the planters and invest in some fake plants instead. Enter AFloral. I’m pretty sure I found them via an Instagram ad, but the second I saw their site I knew I needed to order some samples. Ben I decided to get three new vines and two watermelon plants to mimic the look of what we had prior.
The prices on the site were reasonable and the reviews were great, so I went ahead and placed the order! They arrived about a week later and we were so excited to finally get them up. They did require a little readjusting and fluffing, but once we rearranged them the way we wanted, they fit right into our planters.
The result? An awesome wall of fake plants and vines over our TV – just as we hoped for months back.
If you’re looking for affordable and realistic looking fake plants, definitely check this site out. They have seasonal flowers as well that I’m sure I’ll be ordering soon 🙂
Use code INSTA15 for 15% off your first order!
Ps. I’m going to link our WallyGro planters below, but I would only get them if you’re looking to put real plants in there. I’m sure there’s more affordable options if you’re using fake plants 🙂
